Master Suite Addition Bathroom Remodel Los Altos

Two Bathrooms & Master Suite Addition Los Gatos

RemodelWest completed this Los Gatos project in April. Homeowners’ goals were to add on to the back of the house to make more room for a master suite, and completely remodel the master and hall bathrooms.

The Hall Bathroom was designed with a cool, “beachy” feel in mind. A white field tile with a light turquoise, iridescent decorative tile was used in the shower/tub area. Wainscot paneling and a homeowner selected paint color was used on the walls. This room was considered “the kids bath” for this family of four. Matching pedestal sinks and vanity cabinets were installed along with a towel rack that doubled as a towel warmer.

Included in the project was an addition to the back…

When designing your dream home, it can seem overwhelming to create a picture in your mind of all the possibilities and what they will look like.

RemodelWest uses several tools to help homeowners get a grasp on the possibilities that best fit their needs and wants. In particular, www.houzz.com, has been a valuable resource for both homeowners and designers to communicate their wishes and expectations for the outcome of their remodel project.

Just last month, RemodelWest’s work was hand picked by the writers of Houzz for a featured Ideabook.

Los Gatos Bathroom Remodel

Two Bathroom Remodels in Los Gatos

RemodelWest recently completed this two bathroom remodeling project up in the hills between Saratoga and Los Gatos. With a beautiful view, winding rode up to the driveway and a recently updated outdoor entertainment area, these homeowners were in desperate need of a facelift for their two bathrooms.
The hall bathroom was primarily used for guests and also had access to the outdoor pool area. The layout didn’t need much of a change; the materials would be the major adjustment in this bathroom. The original design consisted of tiled walls closing in the shower area. Designer Sarah Spiroff planned for a glass shower enclosure to really open up the space and a bench seat for added comfort. Bathroom Remodeling and the Costs

The cost of bathroom remodeling often surprise homeowners.  I believe it must stem from the size of the room and therefor the perception that it must be inexpensive.  There are a few ways to tackle a bathroom remodel and it’s first a good idea to understand what the definition of a remodel is. RemodelWest approaches a bath remodel by completely removing all existing materials within the space.  This means we tear out all the cabinetry, tile, flooring, sheetrock and even the plumbing and electrical wiring.  It’s common for bathrooms to have water damage at the tub/shower locations and around the toilet.  So this is not a face lift approach but more about getting access to the skeleton of

New Kitchen Remodel Completed in Saratoga, Ca

Remodel West first visited this home in July of 2010 to take initial measurements and assess existing conditions of the house. Homeowners, Jim and Nancy were referred to us by a friend of theirs who had a kitchen remodeled by Remodel West.  Jim and Nancy wanted to remodel their kitchen mainly to update the outdated materials and appliances they had in their home. For example, the typical oak flooring, light tile with brown grout, and white appliances. A dropped ceiling with recessed center to accommodate the fluorescent light box also needed an update. Over the next few months, these homeowners would meet with the RemodelWest design team to walk through each step of the design process. Designers Kirk and Sarah…

Kitchen and Bathroom Remodel in Cupertino

RemodelWest recently completed a home improvement project in Cupertino. The project consisted of a full kitchen and two bathroom remodels. When searching for a company for a remodel, homeowners must first decide how they want to plan and design the project. At Remodel West, we see your project from the beginning to the end. Our comprehensive approach to remodeling is what encouraged this Cupertino family to hire RemodelWest for their design and construction project.

Early during the design process a possible burden was brought to our attention. There was a beam running through the middle of the kitchen that really limited the flexibility of design. While assessing the existing conditions of the property …

Did you know contractors must be certified by the EPA?

When interviewing general or specialty remodeling contractors you should be aware that a new law was put into place by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) specific to lead paint and materials in existing homes.  This federal regulation went into affect March of 2010 which is designed to protect inhabitants of homes being remodeled from Lead based paint AND other products  as well as the construction workers.  This new law requires contractors to become trained and certified by the EPA which is called a Certified Renovator.  Next to being sure your contractor has the proper license and insurance you now need to ask if they are a Certified Renovator from the EPA.  If not well then you should reconsider…
