Homeowners’ goals were to add on to the back of the house to make more room for a master suite, and completely remodel the master and hall bathrooms.

Compare the before and after floor plans to see the changes that were made.

The Hall Bathroom was designed with a cool, “beachy” feel in mind. A white field tile with a light turquoise, iridescent decorative tile was used in the shower/tub area. Wainscot paneling and a homeowner selected paint color was used on the walls. This room was considered “the kids bath” for this family of four. Matching pedestal sinks and vanity cabinets were installed along with a towel rack that doubled as a towel warmer.

Included in the project was an addition to the back of the house to allow for a master suite additon. Walk-in closets, a built-in fireplace with TV mounted above and vaulted ceiling detail are all features that these homeowners can now enjoy in addition to their newly remodeled bathroom.  
 The master bathroom remodel was designed to incorporate a lot of natural light, his and hers vanity areas, bathtub with heated air jets, shower with rainhead and handheld, wainscot paneling and heated towel rack.

and Los Gatos.With a beautiful view, winding rode up to the driveway and a recently updated outdoor entertainment area, these homeowners were in desperate need of a facelift for their two bathrooms.

Hall Bathroom

The hall bathroom was primarily used for guests and also had access to the outdoor pool area. The layout didn’t need much of a change; the materials would be the major adjustment in this bathroom. The original design consisted of tiled walls closing in the shower area. See the before picture. Designer Sarah Spiroff planned for a glass shower enclosure to really open up the space and a bench seat for added comfort. Project Manager, Jim Welch, installed custom cabinetry for the vanity provided by Crystal. For the countertop a textured quartz material was used and a tumbled natural stone tile for the floors laid in a Versailles pattern.

Master Bathroom

The goals for the master bathroom were to update materials, increase storage and create a more functional his and hers for these busy homeowners. Using similar materials as in the hall bath, the design team created a spacious and functional bathroom with a clean, traditional feel. Integrated into this bathroom that was different than the hall bath was the use of a decorative tile. This “mushroom” colored glass tile was used to border the wall tile, tile the pony wall in the shower and was also used to decorate the recessed niche. With a complimentary paint color on the walls and accent towels, the addition of the glass tile completes this design.

Features:

Floating wall: This wall was built to hide the trim for the shower valves within the shower. Custom glass panels were designed around the wall and the glass tile was used to tile each side.

Shower heads: Two shower heads were installed: the main shower head and then a hand held application next to the bench. This is a nice feature when you’re shaving your legs or when cleaning the shower.

Storage: A full height custom storage cabinet was installed just as you walk in to the bathroom. The vanity consists of three different cabinets built together with roll out shelves for easy access under the sink.
